It’s time to use your imagination to write a short story. I’ve provided you with three different beginnings for a story. Choose your favorite beginning and finish the story. What happens next? You can use your imagination and create any ending that you want. To earn full points, you must post, at least 8-10 sentences, on your blog.
- I looked around the room. Nothing seemed unusual, but then…
- I knew it was going to be an unusual day when my mom came into my bedroom and said...
- The spaceship was out of control and only one person could save us....
I chose:
I looked around the room. Nothing seemed unusual, but then my mum popped out of no where with excitement. My mum said,"Guess what were going Australia and I packed but your not!". "This is just one of your jokes mum right?", I say. "Then why do I have 2 tickets Australia", mum reply's. But I just stood there with nothing to say solid for 20 sec. Then without talking I ran to my room and got a full suitcase with ready to go to the airport. "I'm ready", I say enthusiastically. But my mum was so wowed about how fast I got a full suitcase. After that we headed to the Auckland airport scanned our bags and got ready to go. As we were going on the plane it was a long line until we go there, and as we got there I ran to my seat. "We are ready to fly so sit back relax and enjoy", says the flight attendant. As I was having a good time the man in front of me who started snoring out loud. It was so annoying. The flight attendant came and was going to say something but I cut her of, and said, "I would like another seat desperately". "Coming right up", the flight attendant says. So I got to move to another seat and not long after the man beside me was snoring, and it was even louder. "Not again", I whisper. Then a flight attendant walks past me but then I grab her hand then I say again desperately, "I would like another seat desperately". "This is the last time your moving", she says. So then I moved and the next thing I knew everyone was snoring. "Our flight has ended", says the flight attendant. This is the worst flight ever!

Oh, no! It sounds like a pretty awful flight, Amelia! I would hate to have to sit beside people who were snoring loudly. That truly would be a nightmare :(
ReplyDeleteI really love the way that you woven our learning journey theme into your story. It was a very creative way to merge to the two concepts into one piece of writing. Way to go!!
I hope that you never have the experience that you've written about in real life! The worst flight that I have ever had involved a little baby who was very sad and cried the entire way to Australia. I felt so sad for him and for his mom who was trying to soothe him. Fortunately, the flight is only a few hours long so she didn't have to try to quiet the baby for too long!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday and a safe and happy start to 2017.
Cheers,
Rachel
Hahahaha! What a terrifying experience that would be. Whenever I stay at my mums house, my step dad snores like a motorboat. I had to sleep in the room right next to his and the door is very thin, so I could hear it quite clearly. Maybe I'm used to it, but it only kept me up for an hour this time.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, this story is written exceptionally well, with great attention paid to the punctuation and speech marks. I bet you read a lot of books.
Keep up the fantastic work, Amelia.
