Prefect Korero πŸ‘πŸΌ Happy Samoan Language Week πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ

Hello, and welcome to another blog-post from your's truely! To start off, I'd like to say a huge happy samoan πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ language week to ya'll. If your new to this NZ does likes to keep cultures alive by celebrating them in different dates. This week it's Samoan language week!

To celebrate Samoan language week we decided to connect our weekly korero with this weeks language week. This weeks korero is Say it properly, Please! A lot of different cultures have names that not everyone is famalliar with. So, always be aware of peoples names because when you say it wrong they can feel a little bit hurt inside. Always ask the person how to pronounce there name first and then you will know. I hope you take this korero and put it onto practice! Happy Samoan Language Week πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ

Term 3 Paideia Seminar - EXTC

Today the Y7&8 EXT participated in a Paidea Seminar. A Paidea Seminar is when we come together in our own groups and argue about different statements its like a class discussion but better. There were different groups the Nutritionists, Athletes, Teachers, Doctors, Parents and my group the Shop Owners. In my group was Paikea, Sheena and Naomi. We argued from a Shop Owner's perspective about healthy food. I thought that my group did well in presenting our research and we contributed a lot about Shop Owners. Other groups had very interesting statements to make about healthy food especially the doctors. They said that 50% of Maori's had obesity but pacific islanders had 69% of obesity which was very scary to hear.

I think that I did well during our discussion better than last term but I think that I should've included more people into our discussion because most people weren't discussing with the whole group. Overall I enjoyed the Paidea Seminar and I learn't lot's of interesting facts and information.

Task Description:
Today's in Maths me and Naomi collaborated together in a maths treasure hunt. We were
just revising on our work and we used our knowledge
from term 1 to complete this task. We also picked up little pieces of information from
the work and also
help from our teacher Mrs Stone. There were hidden messages in the graph
that we hard to work out but we managed to solve
it.
