The Kokako make up two species of endangered forest birds that is endemic to New Zealand. Since this endemic bird are made up of two species they live in separate parts of Aotearoa. One is the North Island and the other that most people prefer it more endangered which is in the South Island. Right now the bird is in serious trouble due to its enemies such as cats, rats possums and stoats. But this never stopped the bird from proceeding to win Bird Of The Year with very close competition and a heated campaign. The Kokako mainly eat fruit and leaves but often they like eating buds, nectar, moss, flowers and invertebrates. Back in the past the Kokako used to be called the New Zealand Crow because if you look at is from a far distance it looks like it is a crow.

Super Powers!

Everyone wishes that they could have a super power. I mean who doesn’t? If I to choose my number one superpower it would have to be super intelligence. Here in this online sketch pad I have talked about why I would choose to have super intelligence as my ultimate superpower. Enjoy!

Question(s) of the Day: Did you know that most of New Zealand's native birds are endangered? If you were to help this problem in any way what would you do and why?

Task Description: Woah! It’s been a crazy day today. I just found out that fish can fly! Anyways today I have completed Week three day three of the summer learning journey. The theme today is Taking Flight as today we have learnt about things that fly. The first task was about picking any kind of New Zealand and then we write about it! I chose the Kokako. The next task was about superpowers! We were asked to choose any kind of superpower and then explain why we wanted this particular power. Finally for the last task we were instructed to write about animals that can fly. We had many different options but it came down to one final decision and I chose the flying squid. Well that is all for today viewers! I hope you enjoyed today’s post and remember to stay tuned for more. Bye for now!
