UV LIGHT - EXT 2019

Task Description: Kia Ora Lads! This term for extension we have been looking at Ultra Violet light also known as UV light. This was a task that went on  for the whole term. I was grouped with Amira and Zaeeda. For the task, we each had variety of questions that we got to choose to research. I used a lot of sites to research about ultra violet light. EXT ~ Treaty of Waitangi Game Design Process

Task Description: For the past few weeks the Year 7&8 Extension Students got to focus on making educational games that can help teach student about the Treaty of Waitangi. Keep in mind we don't actually get to make the games because we don't have time and were really busy. Our task was to come up with at least two games that would be successful.

On top of this task description is a presentation I have created a presentation showing what I have come up with. After a lot of thinking my two game designs were a kahoot quiz games and an online amazing race (treaty of waitangi theme). In the presentation you would see what game I chose out of the two and why I chose it. I hope you enjoy this presentation!

WALT: Compare and Contrast

Task Description: Today in was our first day in Extension for 2019. To start off our task was to compare and contrast between two topics which was the Pt England Way and The Treaty of Waitangi. Using the information we knew....and the internet we listed down four different facts/information about the two topics then we had to write the similarities. This is what we have so far. Term 3 Paideia Seminar - EXTC

Today the Y7&8 EXT participated in a Paidea Seminar. A Paidea Seminar is when we come together in our own groups and argue about different statements its like a class discussion but better. There were different groups the Nutritionists, Athletes, Teachers, Doctors, Parents and my group the Shop Owners. In my group was Paikea, Sheena and Naomi. We argued from a Shop Owner's perspective about healthy food. I thought that my group did well in presenting our research and we contributed a lot about Shop Owners. Other groups had very interesting statements to make about healthy food especially the doctors. They said that 50% of Maori's had obesity but pacific islanders had 69% of obesity which was very scary to hear.

 I think that I did well during our discussion better than last term but I think that I should've included more people into our discussion because most people weren't discussing with the whole group. Overall I enjoyed the Paidea Seminar and I learn't lot's of interesting facts and information.

Swift Playgrounds

Today when we were working in extension we had to learn about Functions and For loop.
A Function is a piece of code that you can easily call over and over again. It includes the specific steps performed in the function.
For Loop is a repetitive action or command typically created with programming loops.

Incy Wincy Spider

Task Description: Our theme for the term is musical madness. So for our animation we had to create a animation on a nursery rhyme. We had three options to choose from and after we've chosen our nursery rhyme we had to animate it. The three options were Incy Wincy spider, Tirama Tirama and O le pepe. I chose Incyy Wincy Spider and here is my finished project. Hope You Enjoy!

Task Description: This is my animation on How Does A Guitar Make Sound? This is my extension project finished. We were first put into groups of musical instruments and which ever group we were in we had to create an animation on how does the musical instrument make sound. I was in the Guitars. I first wrote a down on a doc and got some info about Guitars and how they make sound. I then shared with the other people in my group. We also had to create a soundtrack to go with our animation, You will hear my soundtrack in my animation. I also added a voice over to my animation to make it more appealing. Task Description: Today I had to finish off my animation from Term 3. As you guys all know last term the school theme was about Guardians of The Galaxy. We had to create an animation about earth being polluted and people can no longer live there. Now people rely on two trained astronauts to go outa space and search for a mew planet. Then I added my extension animation as a part 2 and how people have adapted to live on there new planet!

Rubric score for Extension!

Rubric Score Reflection:

After reading the rubric I found out that my score was 27. I thought that the scores were fair because the people in my group scored around 20 to 27. I think that being the leader of my group helped me improve my score by taking idea’s from the people in my group and making a great project. I scored a 5 in my performance contribution to the production. My goal for that is to stay there and help others get a 5 too! For Collaboration I think that we did well but I think that we should work harder together at a team so that we could get a 5. In the paideia seminar I contributed a lot. My goal for that is to not just encourage the people that are not in my group but to encourage the people in my group because two of them only got a 2 in the paideia seminar. Now I’ve learnt the things that I need to improve at and how I did in the rubric!

Task Description: This work is overdue from last term. But I am just finishing off work and I decided to finish this. Last year out topic was Now Thats Thinking. We had to create an animation about how technology has changed over time. We had to choose two subjects that we had to animate. Fishing or Sailing. For each subject we had to create a animation how it has changed over time. I chose Fishing. I used google to help me find information about fishing in the past and now. I then recorded my animation along with an voice over and here it is!

Reflection on Back in da day!

The Production was  pretty amazing, but seeing the audience I felt butterflies in my tummy! All the main actors were really  appealing to the audience and the background dances too! The Dances were very beautiful in the Tongan dance which was my favorite dance. Along with the other dances the twist was amazing and the robot dance was pretty cool! The dancers costumes were amazing too! The end of the production was JAWBREAKING! Everyone loved it which what I was hoping. The BEST thing that happened in the production was that everyone that was there participated and all had a great day!!

What an AMAZING day!

PS: The Production was maybe Last week so I'm late on work!

Back in da Day Planning/Research

Description: The Year 5&6 Extension group participated in a production! The production was held at our school hall. This is just our planning we used for the production. Our main focus was on the dancing we had to do in the production as I was in the dancing group. We researched all about dancing how it has changed through the years. We found lot's of information about dancing and kept it all in this presentation. This also helped us make up our own dance for the production.

Extension DLO Maori Tribe!

This is a DLO (Digital Learning object) that I had created with others in my extention class. The group that I was in was the Maori tribe group. The Maori tribe group represents all the cultural people and how they handle there pollution in there areas. Some people say that the cultural people does not have to deal with pollution, but do they? Anyways here is the movies we made. Thanks and enjoy.   

Paidea Seminar discussion!

Yesterday the whole of the Yr 5&6 extension group had a big discussion about pollution. But before I head straight to that I will be talking about the Yr 5&6 extension group and how it all begin. I am one of the people who were chosen to be in the Yr 5&6 extension group. At the moment me have been learning pollution and how it affects people. During the term how we were learning about pollution we got to choose our own group which talks about the perspective on why we should care about these people or animals. The group names were the Caretakers, Birds/eels, Children, Maori tribe and the Conservationist. I chose the Maori tribe along with 3 others. Why did I chose the Maori tribe? I chose the Maori tribe because I like looking at the way of pollution by a cultural perspective. After all that we begin studying about our groups. I had to study the way the cultural people work with there rubbish but the point of view I'm looking at mostly are how are the Maori people super connected to the land. After finishing the research we begin our big discussion. So yesterday the extension group had a big argument about pollution of there point of view. The rules were every time you talk about something by your perspective you have get to eat one candy. So the argument started of by the Bird/Eels perspective and went one and on. But one thing was that the teachers had to kind of back off because there not the ones talking we are. So the discussion went on and on until all lollies were gone! I got to talk about how pollution is affected by the cultural perspective. I really enjoyed the big discussion.
