Bonus Activity
There are literally dozens of different types (‘genres’) of music in the world, including classical, rock ‘n roll, Rhythm & Blues (R&B), pop, hip hop, rap, jazz, etc. Some musicians play on their own and some play as part of a band. Arguably, the most influential band of all time is The Beatles. They were a rock band from Liverpool, England.
Dozens of movies have been made about the band. The most recent was a documentary called ‘The Beatles: 8 Days a Week – The Touring Years.’ Watch the trailer for this movie.
After you have finished, tell us two things that you learned about the Beatles from watching this trailer. They can be any two interesting facts!
The Beatles
So I've watched the trailer for this movie and I got my two interesting facts below.
1. This amazing band was created in Liverpool in 1960.
2. The Beatles broke up in 1970. So then each of the members of the Beatles enjoyed a great and succsesful music career.
Hi Amelia,
ReplyDeleteWow, we are both online at the same time! It's great to see that you decided to watch the trailer for The Beatles: 8 Days a Week. It is a really interesting documentary. I learned a lot about the band after watching it and, clearly, you've learned things from watching the trailer. That's awesome!
When I think of The Beatles I think of this group of young men from Britain who became an international sensation. Girls used to faint when they saw them and start crying uncontrollably when they started singing. They were the biggest band of the time and they stayed together for a full 10 years before breaking up. Sadly, two of the original band members have passed away (George Harrison and John Lennon) but the other two still perform. In fact, I recently say a video of Paul McCartney performing one of the Beatles' original songs at a music festival in Glastonbury, England.
The song is 'Blackbird' and it's one of my all-time 'fav' songs! Here's a link to Paul's performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDxfjUEBT9I
