Activity 1

On your blog tell us which of the icons you would most like to visit in your chosen country. Be sure to tell us why you have chosen it!
Where would you like to visit: I would like to visit the Sydney Opera House.
Why: I would like to visit the Sydney Opera House because it looks very unique and it very attractive to go to. I would also like to go there because it is near the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it goes very well next to it.
Activity 2
Let’s imagine that you have been asked to host a visitor from another country. They are going to come and stay with you for three days. During that time, you are expected to take them on a tour of New Zealand and show them some our most famous icons. Where would you take them? If it was me, I might take them to Mt Cook in the south island, to the Sky Tower in Auckland and to Chums Beach in the Coromandel. What about you? On your blog, tell us which three famous places in New Zealand you would go with your visitor.
If I was to host a visitor from another country these are the places I will take that person to:
1. Sky tower

2. Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium

3. Te papa Museum

Holiday Blogging - Summer Learning Journey A1/A2

Activity 1
To find out more about the weather in your chosen country log onto the Accu Weather website [http://www.accuweather.com]. Type the name of the capital city of your country into the search bar. It will tell you what the weather is going to be like in your country of choice. On your blog, provide a five day forecast for the weather in the capital city of your chosen country.

Forecast Australia:
Today in Canberra is: 85°HI mostly sunny and breezing.

Tomorrow in Canberra is: 83°HI sunny to partly cloudy and nice.
Thursday in Canberra is:  78°HI Areas of low clouds early on; otherwise, mostly sunny and nice.

Friday in Canberra is: 85°HI Mostly sunny and nice.
Saturday in Canberra is: 87°HI Periods of clouds and sunshine with a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon.

Activity 2
Before you start packing your suitcase you will want to create a list of everything that you will need to bring with you. Most airlines let you bring one big suitcase with you so you’ll have to think carefully about what you want to bring…
On your blog site, post a list of everything that you need to pack for your trip. Put a star (*) beside the 5 items that you think are the most important.

Items that I would need:
Mobile*
Shoes*
Clothes*
Books
Bag*
Australian Money*
Toiletries

Holiday Blogging - Summer Learning Journey W1 D1 A1/A2

Week 1: Ready, Steady…Go!
World - expanded.png
www.ethnologue.com/world
Day 1 – Choosing a destination
The world is a very big and very cool place. There are currently 196 countries and approximately 7.1 billion people living on earth. For this project we are going to focus on just 10 countries across 6 continents – Canada (North America), Mexico (Central America), Chile (South America), England (Europe), Germany (Europe), South Africa (Africa), United Arab Emirates (Middle East), Japan (Asia), Malaysia (South-East Asia), and Australia (Australasia).
Please click on the World Map tab on the main menu. It will bring you to a big map. One by one click on the names of the countries and ready the ‘Quick Facts’ about each place.

Activities
Activity 1
After you have read the quick facts about each place you must choose ONE country that you would like to ‘visit.’ On your blog post the name of the country and tell us why you have chosen to visit it. Please give, at least, two reasons for choosing the country.

Activity 2
On Google, research the country that you have chosen to visit and write, in your own words, three interesting facts about that country. They must be facts that weren’t already provided on the World Map.

Australia:
The country that I chose which is where I really want to go to is Australia. Here are 2 two reasons why I chose Australia.
1. Australia is like one of my favorite countries that me and my family would like to go to it’s amazing.

2. My second reason why I chose Australia is because all of the amazing animals like kangaroos, koalas and more.

Here are 3 facts about Australia:

1. Did you know that Australia is the worlds 6th largest country.
2. Another fact is that the name "Australia" is from the Latin word "austrails", meaning southern
3. Fact number 3 is Australia has a range of dangerous snakes like Brown snake, Tiger snake and Taipan.

Task Description: It is finally a new fresh start to the Holidays and school has come to an end for 2016. Well I am still blogging as you can see I am doing the Summer learning Journey which is an amazing site that I can blog on. The last time I did this it was called Winter Learning Journey. As you can see we are learning about countries. Here I had to pick 1 country, and write 2 reasons why I chose that country, and 3 facts about it. Thanks for reading.
