Activity 1

On your blog tell us which of the icons you would most like to visit in your chosen country. Be sure to tell us why you have chosen it!
Where would you like to visit: I would like to visit the Sydney Opera House.
Why: I would like to visit the Sydney Opera House because it looks very unique and it very attractive to go to. I would also like to go there because it is near the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it goes very well next to it.
Activity 2
Let’s imagine that you have been asked to host a visitor from another country. They are going to come and stay with you for three days. During that time, you are expected to take them on a tour of New Zealand and show them some our most famous icons. Where would you take them? If it was me, I might take them to Mt Cook in the south island, to the Sky Tower in Auckland and to Chums Beach in the Coromandel. What about you? On your blog, tell us which three famous places in New Zealand you would go with your visitor.
If I was to host a visitor from another country these are the places I will take that person to:
1. Sky tower

2. Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium

3. Te papa Museum

  2. Hi Amelia and Suzanne,

It is great to see all of these iconic places on your post, Amelia! I particularly liked the way that you included image attributions for each of the three places that you could take a visitor to New Zealand. They are three really popular spots like I'm certain anyone new to the country would enjoy!

I can still remember coming to New Zealand to visit in 1995 and going to Kelly Tarlton's. It was the first time that I had seen a real penguin, live in its' own habitat. I was amazed! When I get the chance I take my son, Aronui, to visit Kelly Tarlton's and/or the zoo. When we go to the zoo we always go to see the elephants, the tigers and the seals. Aronui loves to watch the seals swim around in their underwater enclosure. They look like they're having such fun rolling and diving around!

I hope that you're also having fun with the Summer Learning Journey programme. You're quickly making your way through the activities and, pretty soon, you'll be done. Wow!

Keep up the nice work. I'll look forward to reading your next blog!

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)
